Great shot!! We can see all 3 bridges; Brooklyn Bridge, the Manhattan Bridge and the Williamsburg Bridge
Just the 3 of us today! Jillian is working 🙁

What a fantastic sunny day to visit South Street Seaport! I haven’t been here in years and am now wondering what took me so long to get back. The area is completely brand new after it was devastated by Superstorm Sandy in 2012. It really is a fabulous place to spend the day with the family and in the evening there are great restaurants and evening entertainment, I’m sure it is a fun date night too! I will definitely be checking out a concert soon at the Rooftop at Pier 17.

What a great place to see a concert….high up on the roof top overlooking the water. Nothing better in NYC!
For $2.75 you can take the water taxi from Astoria, it’s a great way to see the city from the water

This was a great day, we walked all along the river, did a little shopping and stopped for ice cream….what else?? There is a fabulous little spot called “Big Gay Ice Cream”. The ice cream is so yummy and there are really fun cones like the Dorothy, the Salty Pimp, Rocky Roadhouse, American Globs and more. We highly recommend a stop here.

Fabulous Ice Cream….not to be missed
He looks thrilled! Eating the “Dorothy”
This is the Salty Pimp – Let me tell you …..one of the best ice cream cones I have ever had!!

Lincoln Motor Company is a big sponsor of Pier 17 and the Seaport. You can even take a test drive!
The living room sponsored by Lincoln Motor Company, great spot to relax and enjoy a complimentary drink.
Beautiful sculptures on display at the Seaport.

A visit to the Seaport District would not be complete without seeing the South Street Seaport Museum. We learned a lot about the ships that sailed into NYC and the history of the Seaport and how it affected the growth of NYC. They offer walking tours, ship tours and you can even sail on a tall ship or on their restored 1930 wooden tugboat the W.O. Decker (book in advance as we could not get onboard the day we were there). I will definitely be going back for a ride on the tugboat. With the boat sailing you get free admission into the museum, so it’s a great deal. A little history and a lot of fun! My college freshman really enjoyed it.

There is even a cute little gift shop, you know I always like to shop!
